Glad you're here, before we embark on this new journey I just wanted to explain how I got here, where "here" is, and why I want to share it with you; here goes...
Working as a make-up artist and skin care consultant, I noted a few
things. One thing I noticed is that most women (about 70 %), would upon
sitting on the chair warn me that they had “sensitive skin”. Apart from the few who really, did I just thought the client wanted to maybe feel a little more special and unique in the pampering session, as we all do. This is because when I would ask my clients how it was
sensitive, or what products in particular they reacted to, so that I
could be careful with what I offered them, they had no idea.
One day I put my cynicism to the side to really work out why
all these women believed their skin was so sensitive. Was it really?
And why? While going browsing youtube videos, I came across a make-up channel that spoke about a weird word: "Parabens", which made everything make sense!
No, their skin was not sensitive, it
was normal, however it was reacting sensitively to the harsh chemicals that are in our everyday make-up and skin care
products.
Now, in my profession as the client sits down, I often get the
question: “What do you use on your skin?” They are usually expecting me
to name a high-end brand that they can also purchase. I usually reply
“sometimes I’ll use (said product), but mostly I use coconut oil. They stare at me wide eyed and we carry on with the
consultation.
Though I’ve always been into nature and started making my own coconut oil
in my mid-teens, it was this new
discovery made me take it up a notch! I wanted to leave the cosmetics
industry and focus on educating and giving consultations to women about
how nature can nurture ANY PROBLEM they will have, and switching to
organic make-up.
So I took time to study it, and we all might as
well give it a chance, I mean come on! The beauty industry is like the
medical industry, they don’t want to solve your problem, ‘cos then you’d
stop going back. They want to solve a little of it to gain your trust
so that you’ll keep going back and spend more and more over time, making
them richer and richer. They depend on your insecurity for profit. Here
at Nature’s Intentions, we’re going to go through a wonderful journey
to reclaim our own power: to heal ourselves!
